Whether your goal is to gain favor with your boss, win a bet with your buddies, or simply get better at golf, it can be difficult to improve your golf score without paying exorbitant country club fees. Thankfully, the advance of technology has made it much easier to get better at golf, even from your own home. The Nintendo Wii, with its motion activated controllers, is the perfect video game console for golf aficionados.

Wii Golf, released in 2006 as a part of the Wii Sports video game, works well for golfers who want to practice from their own home. Players hold the Wiimote game controller facing straight out with both hands, then swing with force similar to swinging a real golf club. If the player’s wrists and swing stay straight, the ball flies straight and far. Otherwise, the ball cuts and spins off course. Advanced players can even put backspin on the ball, or manually change the type of club they need to use for each shot. Putting in Wii Golf is also remarkably similar to real putting. Players can even lean the camera down to the ground to get a better view. For golfers who want to improve their golf score without paying country club fees, Wii Golf is a great option.Related Article : Super Stickman Golf: A 2D Golf Platformer

After Nintendo released the Wii console, the first attachment made available was the Nunchuck. This simple device is a requirement for many Wii games. The Nunchuck is a small remote that attaches to your main Wii remote. It includes an analog stick and two trigger buttons. After your properly attach your Nunchuck to your Wii remote, you’re ready to start playing! Many people have trouble getting the hang of using two separate controllers. Practice really does make perfect with this device, and the more you play, they better you’ll get.This/tag helps explain it more. Try playing a simple game that doesn’t require as much Nunchuck use, and is fairly easy to navigate. Working your way up to more difficult games will give you the time to get used to the Nunchuck, develops your hand-eye coordination, and saves you the frustration. Keep a few inches of space or more between your hands to give yourself enough space to maneuver without bumping your hands into each other. Always remember to keep a firm grip on the Nunchuck and be sure that the Wii remote wrist strap is secured around your wrist. Nunchucks can be difficult to use in the beginning so just keep playing and practicing!

Get a Wii, of course! Here are a few of the best reasons to get a Wiias if you needed any more.
Socialization: It’s still the best system for playing live with other people and it encourages social interaction like no other game on the market. It’s fun to play with friends or even your parents – how many games can you say that about?
Hand-Eye Coordination: If you’ve got your sites set on making your way up to better gaming experiences, this is the best place to start. Wii can help you get familiar with the feeling of a controller in your hands and you’ll feel good all around about how your body moves.
Graphics: There’s nothing about the Wii graphics that makes you go “WOW!” but they sure are fun to look at, right? If you’ve got a soft spot for old school comics or you just like really colorful gaming experiences, Wii is your system.

Picking activities that are going to provide family fun entertainment in your own home can be difficult. People use to play board games and cards games as a family and consider that a game night. Family fun might have also meant renting a movie together and watching it as a family. As kids get older and the games kids want to play change, it is important to change with the times as a family. Movies and card games still have their place, but they might not be the best activity all the time.

One video game has understood this more than any other and tried to create a family friendly platform. Nintento Wii has made it so people of all ages can play, and compete with family members. Most systems even come with a game such as Wii sports, which allows family members to compete against each other in bowling, golf, tennis, and things of that nature.

These games are motion activated which make them fun for people of all ages. There are plenty of family games to pick from such as Super Mario Brothers, Mario Kart, Mario Party, and plenty of sports games. This is the perfect way for the family to spend time with each other.

I am so happy that the good weather is finally here and the long, cold winter months are over. This past winter was especially frigid and it seemed like the kids never left the house. When I was a kid, it did not matter what the weather was like. We were always outside playing and getting plenty of excercise; fitness was important to my group of friends.

So how was I going to keep my family fit and healthy during the winter? I was not about to let my kids end up all rollie-pollie like my friend Ted’s kids. They never go outside, even when it is a gorgeous day! I definitely had a plan and it was a good thing the holidays were coming because Santa Claus was going to bring the family a Nintendo Wii for Christmas!

The kids were extremely happy when they opened their present and my wife was too, especially when she got the Wii Fit board she had been dying to get. Now everyone can stay fit and healthy no matter what the weather is outside and can have fun too. I never thought I would have so much fun with motion-gaming; we spend a lot more time together as a family and that means a lot, especially to the kids!

Just like the Playstation Network and Xbox Live, there are a variety of downloadable games on the WiiWare network. Most of these are arcade-like and can be played for short periods without requiring the time and dedication of regular titles. However, there’s a large variety of quality apparent in the game selections as well. If you don’t want to wind up wishing you had those Wii Points back, check out these titles first.

Bit.Trip Runner: The previous entries in the Bit.Trip series were all time-wasters well worth the money, but Runner provides the most bang for your buck with over 50 platforming-style levels. The soundtrack will slip into your head as well, provided by New York City chiptune group Anamanaguchi.

Cave Story: Originally released as PC freeware in 2004, Daisuke Amaya aka Pixel’s Cave Story hit WiiWare in March. It takes inspiration from classic platforming adventures like Castlevania and Metroid but stakes out its own unique personality through its characters and level designs. The ability to upgrade weapons and the sheer length of the game will keep you hooked for hours.

LostWinds: LostWinds was a launch title for the WiiWare service, but the fact remains that it is a great one. The game gives the player control of both main character Toku as well as the wind currents around him, which can be harnessed to improve jumps, solve puzzles, and beat enemies.

Strong Bad’s Cool Game For Attractive People: This tongue-in-cheek series of adventure/puzzle games captures the humor that has made the Homestar Runner internet series such a hit. Fans will notice references both to the series and to classic games, but it’s also plenty of fun for newcomers.

Swords & Soldiers: This game will appeal to strategy and wargaming fans who have been waiting for a chance to pit Aztecs against Vikings, and more. The humor is rampant, but the level design and unit types make it more than just comedy relief.

The Wii has long been the odd man out in the next-gen video game trifecta. The more traditional Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are both straightforward upgrades of their previous systems (as is clear from the names), while the Wii has become more of a cultural phenomenon. With its motion-sensor control, the system attracts people unfamiliar with traditional control styles. Even parents have been attracted to programs like Wii Fit. On April 20, though, true-believers were rewarded with the Wii Classic Controller Pro, available both individually and as part of a pack with the excellent Monster Hunter Tri.The controller was available in Japan since last summer, but American fans had been left twiddling their thumbs. The controller is similar to Sony’s Dual Shock controller for their Playstation systems, including two analog joysticks and two groups of shoulder buttons in addition to the familiar directional pad and four-button group. The controller comes in black and whiteodd considering we still don’t have a black Wii in North America. The controller is designed to appease purists and make games like Monster Hunter Tri, the controller’s exploration-and-battle-heavy launch-day companion, easier to play. However, with other games like Sin & Punishment: Star Successor being noticeably upgraded to work better with the Wii remote, there was early concern over how well many Wii games would translate to a “classic” approach. Surprisingly, the Internet has been noticeably quiet about the controller since. It’s a safe bet to assume that the Wii Classic Controller will appeal to some players while hardly interesting others. It’s unlikely that it will attract new players to the system, at least not in the same waves that Wii Fit did. If you’re interested in getting your hands on something a little different for the summer video game season, though, it could be worth a look.

In most cases, when someone breaks off a relationship, their go-to excuse is, “It’s not you, it’s me.” However, Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls developer Bethesda has made no secret of the fact that, from their standpoint, the Wii just isn’t pulling its weight. “The stuff we’re doing is a better fit on the other platforms,” according to executive producer Todd Howard. This comes as a slap in the face to Wii fans who insist that the system can accommodate a variety of games. The system’s family-friendly image isn’t hurting any with the recent announcement of an exclusive Glee game, based on the Fox musical drama that is a masterpiece according to fans, and annoying and bewildering according to everyone else. However, Karaoke Revolution: Glee could work on its own merits, even if you ignore the franchise. The game ships with a wired microphone and offers the ability to sing along to songs from the show. Players are graded according to pitch and rhythm. The game will include clips from the show featuring characters like Rachel Berry, football player Finn Hudson, and Glee Club leader Will Schuester. Up to 35 songs are planned for the title, along with multiple game options including career, quick game, and multiplayer (complete with duets and harmonies).Karaoke Revolution: Glee is guaranteed to sell, based on the show’s pre-existing fans. Apart from that, it should be an entertaining music-game romp. Still, we hope that the success of titles like Monster Hunter 3 will prove to developers that the Wii is capable of sustaining deeper, more mature game titles. It’s the same accusation of cleanliness that plagued the Gamecube, and look what happened to it. Take a chance on something a little different, and maybe we’ll see developers like Bethesda changing their minds in the future.

“Hardcore” game players have sometimes derided the Wii console for its user-friendly nature, but any game where you run the risk of flinging the controller through the screen deserves some serious respect. The wrist straps are fine and all, but for those who prefer not to be tied down, glass and ceramics maker Corning is now offering a solution. So-called “Gorilla Glass” will be added to select HDTVs starting next year to protect against scratches, scuffs, and flying Wii remotes. The glass has been used previously to protect smartphone screens, such as the iPhone 4′s.Gorilla Glass was developed in 2008. Corning also has produced the windows for all U.S. Space Shuttles. Not content to work only in glass, Corning has made technological strides in other areasfor example, introducing a new optic fiber called ClearCurve in 2007. This fiber used nanostructure technology to achieve small radii bending in telecommunications networks. Other projects include lasers, microreactors, and photovoltaics. The addition of the Gorilla Glass, which Corning says is two to three times stronger than normal, isn’t expected to raise television prices too much. If it can save even one poor family from the tragedy of an HDTV screen destroyed before its time, though, it will be well worth the cost. Of course, we still don’t recommend flinging your controller at the screen, but the next time Sin & Punishment 2 has you crying after it kicks your butt, at least you can manage a well-deserved throw.
